Gear Couplings ZAKU-N

Gear couplings are positive-locking, torsionally stiff couplings for the transmission of torque. The hubs are connected to the working machine by keyed fit, gear shaft or interference fit. The hub toothing is realised as crowned teeth, the tooth thickness decreasing towards the tooth width. The crowned toothing creates a small circumferential backlash; combined with the centred gear rim this allows smooth running over the entire speed and torque range. Couplings in double cardanic design (two hinge planes) compensate radial, angular and axial shaft displacements. Grease lubrication reduces maintenance costs and extends service life; the couplings are filled with grease and sealed by O-rings or double-lip seals.

Standard design and variants

• Standard design (for horizontal installation, geared on both sides)

• Design with fixed disc

• Design with axial backlash limitation (split retaining ring)

• Design with intermediate shaft (for large hub distances, different torsional spring stiffnesses realisable)

• Undivided sleeve (for confined installation space and low radial displacements)

• Design with centrally located brake disc (brake disc according to DIN 15432; angular displacements up to 0.2° per hinge plane)

• Seals: radially exchangeable double-lip seals (WDD) or O-ring seals (WDR); double-lip seals recommended for displacements > 1°

Materials, lubrication and balancing

• Hubs and sleeves: quenched and tempered steel; bolts property class 8.8

• Hub bores: finished bore H7 (keyway per DIN 6885 sheet 1, tolerance JS 9) or pilot bore (without keyway, medium series tolerance)

• Lubrication: EP rolling-bearing grease and/or EP gear grease recommended, consistency class per DIN 51818

• Balancing: balance quality Q16 for parts without keyway
